GRFFNL opens with an evening of live performance, electronic sound, and collective gathering. Bringing together the work of Bea Álvarez Borque and Dimitra Sofroniou, the opening night sets the tone for the festival through performances that move between music, atmosphere, and embodied presence.
The evening begins with a live performance by Bea Álvarez Borque and Dimitra Sofroniou, two artists whose practices explore sound as both texture and experience. Working across electronic composition, voice, performance, and spatial sound, their works create immersive environments that shift between the intimate and the expansive.
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Bea Álvarez Borque is a performer and composer of electronic music with a background in classical viola. Her work focuses on sound design, sonic texture, and spatialisation, often building layered auditory environments that blur the line between composition and physical space.
Dimitra Sofroniou is a composer, performer, and sound artist from Athens, currently based between Amsterdam and Antwerp. Her performances move between the personal and the political, exploring themes of gender, emotion, and identity while creating spaces where music and performance intersect.
Following the performance, the night continues with the GRFFNL opening party: drinks, music, and a chance to gather, meet, and settle into the festival together.
