GRFFNL closes its first edition with an evening of live music, gathering, and celebration. Bringing the festival to an end, the closing night offers a moment to come together once more through sound, conversation, and shared presence.
The evening features a live performance by Dimitris Tsiotas and Stelios Ladopoulos, presenting a set of Greek music drawing from the traditions of rebetika and laika. Performed with bouzouki, guitar, and vocals, the set moves between intimate melodies and collective rhythms, revisiting musical traditions that continue to resonate across generations and geographies.
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Dimitris Tsiotas is a guitarist based in Amsterdam whose playing is rooted in bebop and post-bop jazz. He began his career in the UK before relocating to Amsterdam, where he studied with guitarist Jesse van Ruller.
Stelios Ladopoulos is a musician and sound engineer based in Utrecht. He studies Jazz and Pop at HKU and regularly performs Greek music in venues across the Netherlands, bringing together traditional repertoire with contemporary performance practices. He plays with musical groups ‘‘Gidiki’’ and ‘‘Arda and the Giannena’’.
Dimitris and Stelios are both Greek performers who met in the Netherlands, they play together both Jazz and Rebetiko repertoires.
Following the concert, the evening continues with drinks and music as we mark the end of the festival together.
